ENGLISH COUNTY SCORES

In the county cricket competition, Somerset scored 206 in its first innings against Surrey, "Whito making 61, In its tecond innings it got 160, Hitch taking seven wickets for 43 runs. Surreys' first innings yielded 477 (Hobbs 111; Ducat 128, Shepherd 133). Creswell took five wicket 3 for 153. Surrey won by an innings and 111 runs.
Lancashire made in its first innings 400 runs (Makepeace Go. Watson 91, Green 61), and in its second nine runs' for one wicket, against Hampshire. Jameson took seven for D2. Hampshire, in its first inningß, 16S (Mead 55, Tennyson' .not out 53). Parkin took four for 78. and McDonald four for 84. Hampshire's gecond innings produced 239 (Tennyson 75). Lancashire won by nine wiakets.
Cambridge scored 543 (Dawson 140, Bennett 88, Enthoven 75, Crawley 60) in its first innings against Sussex and 24 for ono wicket in it 3 second. Sussex's first innings produced 208 (Parks 65), Enthoven taking four for 05 and Meyer four for 48. In its second effort Susses got 35S (Bowloy 121, Watson 75, Newbury not out 60). Cornbridge won by nine wickets. For Yorkshire against Leicestershire, Sut«liffe made 129 and Holmes 194. MacauJay took six for ■S4 in the first innings and Kilnor fivo for 66. ' Yorkshire won. ' For Kent against Warwick, Hardinga made 114 and Woolley not out 136. Wright took six for 62. For Warwick, Calthorpe took six for 17. Kent won. For Northants against Glamorgan, Thomas took six for 24, and" for Glamorgan, Mercer took six for 47.- Northants. won. For Worcester against Derby, Hoot took five for 93. Derby won. Playing Middlesex, Nottinghamshire, in their first innings, made 167 (Payton 78) Durston took four wiekets for 46 runs. In their ' second innings they made 461 for nine wickets and declared (Whysall 82, Carr 103 Payton 126 not out). Middlesex, in the' first innings, made 127, Barratt getting five wickets for 44' runs and Staples four for 43 runs. In the second innings they made 502 •for six wickets (Bruce 103, Hendren. 206 not out, Mann 101 not out). Middlesex won by four wickets. _ For Essex, against Oxford University, Freeman made 139. The match was drawn.
