GOVERNMENT DROPS PROPOSAL. (BY CABLE—PEESS ASSOCIATION—COFHUaHT.) ("the times.") (Received June 23rd, 11.40 p.m.) LONDON, Juno 22. The Toronto correspondent of "The Times" says tho Canadian Government apparently has been impressed'by the strength of the agitation against the adoption of a new Dominion flag. It is now announced that tho Government has no intention of proceeding with the proposal to prepare a design for a Canadian national flag. The committee appointed to prepare a design has been discharged. It is stated that further action has' been postponed pending & discussion in Parliament, but tho opinion prevails that tho proposal has been permanently dropped.
