♦ "With Air Ernest Ernpson as president of tlio newly formed Aeolian Club for the advancement of musical culture, <1- very lino standard of musicianship is predicted for the first public recital, to be held in the ■Choral Hall on Monday, July 6th. The members of tlio club are thoso who possess tho necessary aptitude for concert piaying, and it is their ambition to stimulate enthusiasm for more intense 6tudy and to act in ;,ny wuy that -will further the cause of music, i'or tliis recital concerto work by Mozart, Beethoven and Moslcowski will be performed. The Mozart 1) minor concerto with its wonderful treatment characteristic of that composer, the first movement of the Emperor Concerto of Beethoven and the beautiful Moskowski concerto arc scldoai heard in this city, and should appeal strongly to every true music lover. A violin sonata of Mozart's will also be a feature of the programme, as well as pianoforte solos from the. works of Chopin, Schubert, Liszt, Arensky and Writer Niemann. Amongst the performers for the first recital will bo the Misses Olive Cooper, Juditli Mat-Mas, Piri Thompson, Ruth Henry, May FounEleie Morrah, Theo. Shore, Tiolet Halliday, Mary Morrison and Mr F. Page, r.nd aB accompanists Mis 3 Betty liannan and Mr Ernest Empson.
