FERNSIDE ITEMS.
A social arranged by the Fernside School Committee was held in the school in aid of the school funds. There wis a record attendance. A euchre tournament was held in one room and dancing: in the other. The prizes for tho cards were von by Miss J. Kennedy and Mr George Lill. Consolation prizes were awarded to Mrs S. C. Hewitt and Mr C. Viekery. During the first- part of the evening music for the dancing was played by Miss M. Sutherland, and later by Mr D. Duske. Mr S. Inns also accompanied the piano with his violin for a number of dances. The lucky-spot waltz was won by Miss M. Plaskctt. and Mr C. Miuehington. Mr AV. Plaskett was M.C. A privet hedge is to be planted along the school road fences 10 replace tho niaerocarpa hedge which was destroyed by fire in March of last year.
