"NAME THE MAN."
Wlien titles of . -well-known books are changed for the screen versions, there is usually a storm of protest. Critics say that tho practice misleads the public. But it was to keep the public from being misled that Goldwyn changed the name of "Name tho Man!" wliich comes to Everybody's Theatre and Greater Crystal Palace Theatre next week for a week's screening. When Sir Hall Caine wrote the story, he published it under tho nanio of "Master of Man." Since that time, several pictures with similar titles, but based on altogether different themes, have been issued, and it was to avoid a. confusion that Goldwyn consulted with tho celebrated English novelist, and, with him, agreed on "INamo the Man!" even at the. risk of losing the value of the advertising which resulted from the interest which the ctory aroused under its original tii'e. The new name is in perfect keeping with tho story, wbek deals with the young and very human judge on tho Isle of Man, and of tho great climax in his life and' in the lives of two gir'.s. The all-star cast includes Mae Busch, Conrad Patsy Ruth Miller, Hobart Bosworth and Creighlon Halo. Several spectacular scenes call for great mobs, and along with beautiful Bcenes of natural grandeur «ro elaborate settings, including those of the great castle and prison on tho Isle of Man.
The bos plans for both theatre open on Thursday at The Bristol.
