RACES AT RICCARTON.
1 ho decision to change ,thc venue of the Banks Peninsula Racing Cluli and Brackenfield Hunt Chili's race meeting from Motukarara to Riccarton proved wis© in every way, as there was a large attendance at the gathering on Saturday. The weather was beautiful and many country people, as well as the usual City lacegoers, enjoyed a good day's sport. .< Amongst those present were Sir George and Lady Clifford, Mr J. K. WEDDING.
KENNEDY—MORLAND. A pretty wedding took place recently at the Tlomr.n Catholic Cathedra], Christ-church, when Jane, third daughter of the late Mr and Mrs' Thomas Morland. of "TJosebank," J'akaia. was married to John David, eldest son of ilrs and the late Mr John Kennedy, of Methven.
The Cnthedral was beautifully decorated for the occasion with white flowers. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father price.
The bride, who was given away by her' brother, Mr John Mnrlnnd, of Temuka, wore a handsome frock of ivory satin marocain, caught at the- side with a brilliant ornament. Her long veil which formed a train, was he'd with a. wreath of orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet of white hothouse flowers.
Miss Agnes Kennedy ' attended as chief bridesmaid, wearing a pretty frock of lemon shaded crepe de chine and.a brown hat. She carried a bouquet of lemon and orange chrysanthemums. The dther bridesmaids were Misses Kathleen McAnulty and Kathleen Morland. nieces of the bride. They were daintily, attired in frilled frocks of apricot satin and mob caps, end carried bouquets to tone with their frocks.
Mr George Kennedy, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at Dixieland, where the decorations were carried out in antumntinted flowers and foliage. The guests .were received by the bride's sister, Mrs Jerome McAnulty •(Methven;. who wore a frock of navy marocain, beaded '•> gold and black and a navy velvet hat Siva carried a bouquet of amethyst flowers. Mrs Kennedy, mother of the bridegroom, wore a handsome frock of black silk and Tedium lace and a black hat, • She carried a' bouquet of violets.
AVhen Mr and Mrs J. D. Kennedy left for their wedding tour,: the bride wore a. navy gabardine frock with touches of Oriental trimming and a. close-fitting .hat of navy satin. ! DANCE AT LYNDHURST. The Lyndhursi Lawn Tennis Club held a ivery successful dance in the Lyndhurst Hell on Friday evening. Tho hall was tastefully decorated .with coloured streamers and baskets of flowers and decorated tennis racquets were suspended from the ceiling. The floor was m splendid order for dancing. Much "credit is due to Miss Rudd, who carried out the duties of .secretary in a very efficient manner. Another factor contributing to the success of the evening was the splendid music supplied by McDonald's. Orchestra, of Rakaial Extras were played by Miss McKendry and Mr Allred, and Mr A. Gadd was M.C. - A dainty supper was handed round by members of the club. Among those present were: .

Robertson, strawberry satin; McKendry, powder blue satin with rosebud trimmings; McKendiy, pink shot satin; Gray, pink g&orgette; Breach', ohiffon velvet, beautifully beaded; Reesby, gieen silk, relieved with lemon.
