OBITUARY.
The death occurred at his modern, Ferry road, Woolsicn, on Therapy* . of Mr Joseph Gordon Scoullar, formerly a wcll-knotfn journalist in the southern districts <f New Zit?stand. Prior to entering the ranks of jonriial- , ism Mr Seoullnr held a position a» a teacher in tho Otago education district. Joining the staff of the Mataura "Ensign," he contributed itoks some time a smartly-written topical, ; column to that paper,, besides doiPfi 1 a great deal of other literary work. Subsequently hj« went to Duned'n, where he resided for many jeani. many years hj« waa connected with the "Otago Daily Times" in various capacities —ns reader, as assistant subeditor, and as a leader writer.
