TRAMWAY FINANCE.
to rax zoitok of "ras pbess." Sir, —I cannot follow the line taken by your correspondent "Leinster road Section,'' that because the expenditure of tramways has been exceeding the revenue by several thousands of pounds sterling, they should be putting by a "nest egg" for emergency. If so, as travellers, we think the emergency has arisen, and why shouldn't the Board—or if the Boafd has no coatrol, the authorities who have—use the surplus to make good the loss. Tile Board ought to know if they could, with this sinking fund, meet any annual deficiency instead of loaning it out. If I may presume to state, it is the direction which commonsense points out.— Yours, etc., J. P. McHABDIE. .Woolaton*-
