BURWOOD ITEMS.

A very enjoyable concert programme was given by the Juvenile -Concert Parly to a large audience in the Burwoed Parish Hall en Thursday evening. The proceeds wore in aid of the school funds, and at the termination Mr J. Liggins, chairman of the School Committee, thanked tho performers for 'heir assistance, and.announced that tho school funds would benefit materially. The committee at the close of proceedings -entertained the" visitors at supper, for which Mrs Brown, on behalf of the cempany .returned thanks. The programme was as follows: Piuno duct, Shirley Cook and Grace Nixon; character song, Doris Donnelly; humorous recitation, Kathleen Chappie; character song, Esme Evans; recitation. Jim Humphreys; character song, Joyce Nixcn; sketch. Joan Hughes; song, Melva Cater; dance. Doreen Oliver; duet in character, Grace Nixon and Doris Donnelly; recitation, Esme Evar.s; song in character, Joan Hughes; recitation, Keith Evans; song, Kathleen Chappie; musical monologue, Grace Nixon; danco, Doreen Oliver; song, Melva Cater; recitation, Joan Hughes; song, Joyce Nixon; duet, Melva Cater and Kathleen Chappie; accompanist, Mrs I. H. Brcwn. Mr G. Claydon was entertained by the parishioners of All Saints'. Bunvood. The Rov. C. A. Tobin referred to the . great assistance Mr Claydon had always given to to the church, his willingness at all times to assist with the musical portion of ihe service, and on behalf of the parishioners he asked Mr Claydon to accept a baton scarf, and rug as a small token of esteem. Mr Claydon suitably responded, and assured those present that w.hen time permitted ho would always be pleased to render assistance to the church. The evening was spent enjoyably with songs, recitations, and games. The following contributed items: Mosdames Bowker and Tobin, Miss Tobin, Messrs F. Palmer, G. Claydon, F. Warren. Games werr afterwards indulged in and a dainty supper was handed round by tho members of the Girls' Friendly Society.
