Golf. The first round of the ladies' championship for aiie 80-wring Shield will be played at Diamond Harbour this afternoon. A men's handicap for the Hamilton Trophy will aiso be played. A men's medal match will be played at Charteris Bay during the week-end. The Lyttelton Ladies' Club will play n medal match at Charteris Bay during the week-end. The. following is the draw for the first round of the ladies' championship of the Diamond Harbour Club:—Miss E. WhileParsons v. Miss E. Hoffman. Second round —Miss Anne Cook v. Miss Payne; Miss E. Bundy v. Miss'W. Coilins; Mrs H. Ayers v. Miss C. Williams; Mrs F. E. Sutton v. winner of first round.
The first round of tho men's champiomskip of the Diamond Harbour Club has been, extended q woek owing to the recent bad weather. Seamen's Institute. The Thursday evening concert at the Seamen's Institute was given by the Lyttelton Ladies' Guild. Those contributing items were: Misses Slater and 11. Hatchwell, and Messrs J. Nelson, Thompson, and L. Symonds. Mr D. Skeets, of the Canadian Skirmisher, gave an exhibition of club swinging. The accompanists were Miss Hutchwell and Miss Sinclair. Mesdamos It. Hatchwell, T. M. Curnow, Clow, and E. Wilson, with several others, supervised tho supper given at the close of the concert.
