CASUALTIES.

—+— An inquest concerning the death of Harry Lee, -who was found hanging in bis own orchard, Puaba, en Tuesday, was held yesterday morning before Mr Wyvern Wilson, District Coroner. Evidence was given by Marion. Lee, widow of the deceased; John Harty, a neighbour who cut the body down; Dr. Trail, and Constable Watman. A verdict of suicide -was returned. (PBE3S ASSOCIATION TZUCGBAUS.) AUCKLAND, Juno IS. A motor-cyclist, Leslie Hammond, 21, collided with a pedestrian, Mrs J. Bold, at Onehunga, to-night. Mrs Bold suffered a brokeu leg and cuts on the head. Hammond received injuries of a more or less serious nature to his hoad. Both wore sent to the "Hospital.

GISBORNE, Jne 18. The death of a child aged eleven months occurred at Waima,,;-Tokomaru Bay, under unusually sad circumstaii-> ces. The mother (Mrs William Ryland) was absent from, the house for a few minutes to meet another child, who had to cross a flooded creek. During her absence, the child was given ail overdose of patent medicine by a little brother, aged five years. The. result was that the child took convulsions and died four hours later. At the inquest a verdict was returnee! that the child died from convulsions, brought aboufc by an overdose of patent medicine accidentally given.

HAJSTINGS, Juno 18, Eugene Breen, 37, a married man with four when riding liis bicycle last evening, swerved into a side street and a motor-cyolist collided with him and precipitated him to the ground, fracturing his skull. He died this morning. WANGA\NUI, Juno 18.

As the result of a collision between a tram-car and motorcycle and side-car this aftornoon; John Mitchell, married, suffered a fractured skull, arm, and leg, and was taken to the Hospital in a serious state.
