MURDER SOLVED.
DIAMOND RING CLUE LEADS TO CONFESSION. (BI CABLE—r-BESS association— coriKicnrr.) (Sidney "Sun' Service.) NEW YORK, June 10. Two years ago Mrs Grogan, of Los Angeles, lost.her husband, who left a fortuno of 2,000,000 dollars, mado through oil speculating. Tho widow, who had a 19-year-old son, Patrick, later married Thomas Young, a leading Los Angeles dentist. > Mrs Young mysteriously disappeared in February last, since when the policehave kept'watch on Young, finally arresting him on a charge of murdering his wife. • After his arrest. Young made a confession, in which he stated that ho killed his wife and placed tho body in a cistern near their country. bungalow, which Patrick, without any knowledge that a -crime had been committed, aseisted him to fill with cement. After the confession, the police visits ed the bungalow, aud unearthed the body from the cement. The police were long baffled by the cleverness with which Young concealed the crime. Eventually they obtained a clue through a diamond ring which .bo removed from tho dead woman s finder and presented to his girl officeassistant. The girl handed it 'over to she police.
