Prior to Jus departure by aeroplane from Rabat tho Prime Minister (AL. Painleve) issued a statement, emphasising the soundness of tho French military position in Morocco. He announced that it was intended to ?e % nd tanks and to reinforce tho Air Force. Ho admitted that tho onomy was pugnacious and ready for any sort of coup, but said tho lliffis possessed few guns or maohino guns.
