CASUALTIES.
The death occurred at the Karitanc Hospital, Christchurch,- on Saturday, of a male infant, aged six months. The child had vomited in its cot, and choked. \ It was dead when discovered. An inquest was held yesterday, evi-. dence of identification being taken.

Benfell. aged 33, a married man with eight children, who was'employed as a shunter at Burnsidej was. fatally injured last .night through being, crushed between an engine and a meat waggon, while, shunting. He was removed to the hospital, but on arrival was found to be dead.
