His Excellency the Governor-Goneral, Sir Charles Fergusson, -will arrive from the south to-night on the occasion of his first official visit to Christchurch. His Excellency, who will be accompanied by Lady Alice Fergusson, Miss Fergusson, and Miss Orr-Ewing, will remain in the city Until Wednesday and will undertake a number of engagements arranged for him. Sir Charles and Lady Alice Fergusson will be the guests of Mrs Boyle (Riccarton) and Miss Fergusson and Miss Orr-Ewing will stay with Mrs Algar Williams (Fendalton). His" Excellency's engagements for today will be: — Arrive 5 p.m. from Dunedin.

Guard of Honour, St. Andrew's Collego Cadets. 8.30 p.m.—Civic Welcome, City Council Chambers, 194 Manchester street. Guard of Honour, Ist Battalion, Canterbury Regiment.

For to-morrow his Excellency's engagements will be: — 10 a.m.—Visit Public'Hoapital. Noon. —Visit Consumptive Sanatorium (Returned Soldiers). 3 p.m.—Review of Girl Guides and Boy Scouts, Caledonian Hall. 3.45 p.m. —Visit Rannerdalo Home (Disabled Soldiers). 8 p.m.—Kreislcr Concert.

VISIT TO DUNEDIN. (FHtSS ASSOCIATION TBLXOBAM.) DUNEDIN, Juno 11. The Vice-Begal party had. anothor busy day to-day. Tho Public Hospital was first visited, his Excellency chatting with several patients. The.Ross Home, which is conducted by the Presbyterian Social Service Association, was next visited, and their Excellencies were then motored to Karitane Hospital, whero Sir Charles, laid tho foundation stono of tho new Nurses' Homo. The visitors weiro entertained at morning tea, and tho Governor-General was the guest of the Rotary Club at luncheon. His Excellency visited tho Y.M.G.A. in the afternoon, whero he was welcomed by tho directors. Their Excellencies were the guests of tho Mayor • and Mayoress at dinner in the evening. The Vice-Regal party will leavo tor tho north at 8.45 to-morrow morning.
