SUMNER FIRE BRIGADE.
Superintendent J. Carter presided, at a meeting of the Sumner Voluntosr Fire Brigade. The Sumner Borough Council congratulated the brigade on its success during th© past year. The annual ; balancesheet showed receipts £75 7s 7d and exi pendituro £U 14s 3d. Superintendent .Carter moved that a vote of thanks be accorded to Fireman J. A. Nuttall for his gener r osity in presenting the Nuttall Shield, for local comneliticn. Branchman Geo. Hmej was appointed delegate to represent Sumner at the C.P.F.B. meeting to be held in Christchurch. It was decided' to hold the annual social next month, Nuttall s orchestra to provido the music. The Borough Council wrote approving of the appointment of Mr J. Senior, of Eedcliffs, as a member of tile brigade.
