LEAGUE. TRIAL GAME TO-MORROW. There should be :omc sparkling football at Monica Park to-morrow afternoon, when a combined Otago and West Coaet team will rneet Canterbury in o, trial game to select the South Island team to meet the North Island. The selector has choaen two very fine who should provide some fust, opsn fcotball. The backs in the Cantorbury team., are a particularly fast lot, and every mati is noted for his clean handling, while tho forwards are an even pack with individual brilliancy in the loose. Though thecode started in the south only last season, its representatives managed to beat the .local men in two games, and reinforced by •wellknown players from tho Coast, should be very hard to beat. The inducement of the tjip to Australia will make every man strive his hardest, .so the game should be a- fine one. There will be a frequent tram service to tho .gates, and a- curtain-raiser between two good third grade teams.

ASSOCIATION.

TO-MORROW'S ATTRACTION. The meeting of Sunnysido. and Ncmads, Canterbury's unbeaten teams and Chatham Cup candidates, at English Park to-morrow is creating 1 exceptional interest in local Soccer circles. The wide range of Jiighclass talent embodied in each of the contesting teams, and tho vital bearing the result'of (ho match will have on the chain? pionshipj is sufficient to justify the opinion that it will provide tho finest exhibition of Association football in ■ tho season's calendar at English Park. Seven players in each' of tho toama engaged havn represented Canterbury in interprovincial matches, and a. discerning critic would readily concede that either combination, could worthily up-' field the fine traditions associated with trio Red and Black oh tho field of play. Fresh from his Wellington triumph, where he Bcorcd four goals for, Canterbury, Trotter will appear as leader of tho Sunnysiilc attack. Wellington critics are unanimously of the ..opinion that Trotter is the finest centre forward ever seen in New Zealand. Behind him is a • quintet of Canterbury's star defenders, for in competition, games they- have conceded but one goal. Tho Nomads' attack is equally brilliant, and hero again tho defence is comprised entirely of representative players. Combined play is the foundation of each team's brilliant success, and with such talent available, to-jnorrow's match should be a memorable. -.contest. ! '' .
