Middlesex, in the first inninga, made 118, Eobinson taking five..wickets for 52 runs, and in the second 271 (Stevens 65, Hearne 91). Yorkshire, in the first innings, made 538 for eix wickets and declared (Holmes riot out 315, Sutcliffe 58, Loyland 61). Yorkshire won by an inmng3, four wickets, and 149 runs. Holmes broke the Lord's ,record, made in 1820 by William Ward, of 278, and also made the /highest score by an . Englishman since 1905 and the highest in his life. He batted 405 minutes, hit 38 fours, and did. not give a single chance. Lancashire, in the first innings, made 371 (Makepeace 72. E. Ty'.dedey 82, Watson 120, Pender taking six for 86). Surrey, in the innings, made 71 (Macdonald taking 1 four for 30, Tyld'esley three., for 7, Parkin three for 17), and in tho second 283 (Sandman 117, Macdonald taking six for 112). Lancashire won by an innings and 17 runs. Playing for Gloucester against Derby, Hammond took five for 57 in the first innings, and Parker eight for 56 in the second. Gloucester won. Plaving for Northants against Warwick, Woolley made 164- and Enright 113. The latter also took five for 66, while Warwick Howell took five for 150. Northants won. For Worcester against Sussex, Bogers "made 118 not out, and Root; took five for 64 in the first innings and -five for 78 in tho second, while for Sussex Wensley took five for 56 in 'the first innings and Tate six for 56 in the second. Sussex won. For Notts against Leicester, Carr' made 206, and Matthews took six wickets for 81 runs. Nottinghamshire won.
