A NEW FLAG.
CANADA CONSIDERING DEIGNS
(by cable—febss asßociatioh—coptright.) (austbauan asd n.z. cable association.) '-■ (Received Juno 10th, 7.10 p.m.) OTTAWA, June 9. Falling into lino with Australia and New Zealand, Canada is to have a new flag, which is to be recognised as the Flag of tho Dominion. The Government has passed an Order appointing a Committee to consider and report on the most suitable design for a Canadian National Flag for use ashore. The distinctive Canadian Flag is so far authorised for use only by Canadian Government-owned vessels and ships on the Canadian Registry. Three suggestions have been put before the Committee; the first to continue the use of the Red Ensign with the Canadian Arms, as the National flag, the second to use tho Union Jack with the Canadian Arms in the centre, and tho third to adopt an entirely new design.
