MR H. E. PERYMAN ELECTED. A by-election for a Commissioner to represent the southern district of the Waimakafiri River Trust was held yesterday, in consequence of MrC. H. Opie having resigned. The district extends from New Brighton to the Springs County, and over 35,000 people were entitled to vote, the (voting qualification being based on capital value. The candidates were Messrs J. A.
