CHURCH ANNIVERSARY.

The Linwood Methodist Church held its. 29th anniversary on Sunday, wnen there were large ■ congregations.' The preachers were the Ee'vs. Is'eile, Werrin, and _ Dudley. Special music was given by the local choir morning and evening. . At the afternoon service the Sydenham Methodist Choir contributed the musical programme, for which tbey received hearty thanks. On Tuesday evening the tea and public meeting took place, Rev. B. Dudley presiding. Reports vere read by the secretaries of the Trust Board, Ladies'- Guild, and Sunday School. These indicated the church' t-o be in a healthy and thriving condition. There 'had been a. small increase cf senior members, and a largo addition to the junior roll. By generous financial support, the.deot on the church and parsonage had. been .reduced to £271, and there was .ako> the slim of-'£l22 in hand towards* new 'building, ' which it was hoped would be erected shortly. During the evening a short and -interesting address was given by. the Rev. A. TV. Stuart, of the local Baptist Churcli, in which ho ' congratulated the congregation on the dis- i tinctly encouraging position in which it was I placed. .»
