JAPANESE BAN ON DANCING.

A police order forbids foreign dancing in. cafes, tearooms, and elsewhere except at licensed halls and in private homes, where dancing is permissible until 10 o'clock at night. Only the Imperial Hotel, where the majority of the foreigners hold a weekly dance, vainly protested. The Embassies and Legations arc not affected. The order is due to pressure by reactionaries objecting to anything foreign. #
