PRIZE-GIVING.
« —— ' MOUNT SOMERS SCHOOL. Owing: to tho epidemic, the annual prizogiving wnd picnic had to be postponed, and owing to tho lateness of the. season, tho picnic wa3 abandonod, only prizes being given. The function" took place in the school on Friday afternoon, there being a number of the committee present, as well as several ladies. The chairman, Mr Williams, present-: ed the prizes, and explained why the function took the form it did. Ho moved a. hearty vote of thanks to tho'staff for tho work done last year, and mentioned tho success obtained at the proficiency examination, where six pupils obtained' proficiency and one competency from seven entered. Mr Jones reported on behalf of the staff. The following is tho list of prize-winners: Standard VI.: Leila, Todd, Georgo Nell. Standard V.: Frank Evans, •Wm.' Morgan and Katie. Green. Standard IV.: Bernard "Williams, June Evans and Chas. Stephen. Standard IK.: Tessie Morgan, Winnie Nell and Nesta Gifkins. Standard 11. r Connie Beokley, Amy Williams, and_Nancy Edgar. Standard I.: Dulcia Hood, iiussell Grieve and Lorna, Jones.
