TEAMS CHAMPIONSHIP. At the Mid-Canterbury Rifle Championship meeting', held at Ashburton on the King's Birthday, a tie resulted in the teams' match between Ashburton .No. 2 and. Sydenham No. 1, each scoring- 237 points after an excellent contest, in which 41 teams competed. The shoot-off was held at Ashburton on Saturdav, and resulted in a, win for Sydenham bv 239 to 228. The scoring was as follows: "Sydenham—L. C. Pimm 49, C. Jessop 49, F 0 Hay 48, J. Craig 47, J. Clark 46. Ashburton—A. J. Shepherd 49, A. Oakley 49, C. Simpson 46, E. R. Truman 45, L. OaUlcv 33. ■ ' , At the conclusion ci the match, the shield was presented to the winning team, to-°-ethe>- wfth the- silver cups.that go with the shield this year. Cups were also presented to tho Ashburton team, the lunnera-up. A 10-a-'sido match was fired, resulting in a win for Sydenham by 473 to 465.
