. _<, ; Rifle Club. The local rifle team fired a match against Sydenham No. 2 team on Friday evening, the visitors proving victors by 20 points. J. Evans, with 34, was the highest scorer for Heathcote. , Social. • ~ A-vory enjoyable social was,held in St. Mary's Sunday School room on Thursday ovoning, in aid of the sweets stall, of the Flower Show- The programme consisted of dancing, interspersed, with items contributed by Misses Pascoe, Carney, Johns (songs), and Misses Johns and Johnston (pianoforte duet)". Dance- music was supplied by Mrs Curhow and Misses Johns and Johnston. Sunday School Tea.' On Saturday afternoon the scholars of the Methodist Sunday School were entertained at tea jn the schoolroom The Rev. W. H. Speer presided over the gathering. After the tea games were held. \ 'St. Mary's. Church.; On Thursday afternoon St. Mary's. Auglican Church was removed from its old- site to the more central site near the railway. Before the church will be ready for services, one or two adjustments and repairs', will have to be made.
