Harbour Light Theatre. "So Big," a First National comedy-drama, starring Colleen Moore, was the chief attraction at Hie Harbour.Light .Theatre on Saturday nisht. A comedv. gazette, and scenic were also screened. Very acceptable to tho Inrcc audience was the appearance of Miss Marjorie Xelson, inezzo-soprnno. and Mrs Les Bailey, tenor, both beine vinners at the recent Competitions at Christchurch. Each had to respond to a well-deserved encore. Tho picture portion of the programme will be repeated to-night. To-morrow "Jealousy." a British production, starring Matheson Lang, will be shown, together with a Larry Semon comedy and a further episode of the Jack Dempsey serial "Fight and Win." Magistrate's Court. Messrs F. Knights, J.P., and J. T. Norton, J.P., presided at the Magistrate's Court .on Saturday. Bertram Gordon Bosworth, for whom Mr J. B.' Batchelor' appeared, was charged with stealing, on May 27th, one pair of men's socks and three singlets, valued at "7s 6d. the properly of It. J. Tredennick, mercer. Canterbury street. In entering a plea of puilty. Mv Batchelor stated the offence was committed while the accused was under, the influence of liquor. The Bench ordered the accused to eome up for sentene'e within twelve months if called upon, and to pay 4s 6d, the value of one pair of socks not recovered. He was further ordered to taka out a prohibition order against himself.

Golf. A ladies'.match for the Thomas cleek was played at Diamond Harbour on Saturday afternoon, and was won by Mrs H. Ayors with a net score of 71, Mrs F. E. Sutton, 74, .beiwjr tho runner-up. In the first round of the Diamond Harbour Senior Championship J. L. Jones beat R-. Miller. A mixed foursome match for tho Rangiora cleek was played at Charteris Bay during the week-end. The winners were Miss E. White-Parsons and G. Morris. Mr and. Mrs ,H. Ayers and Miss' W. -Collins and R. Rhind tied for second place. ' '
