RECORDS SHATTERED. .(BY CABLE—PBESS ASSOCIATION —COPTBIGHT.) (AUBTBALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received April 30th, 10.30 p.m.) IPEW YORK, April 29. Running at Los Angeles, Paavo Nurmi, the phantom Finn, broke the' thirty-year-old record for the one and a half miles, which he ran in 6min 42 2-ssec, four seconds better than the record of Tommy Coneff. Nurmi also bettered the one and a quarter mile and two thousand yard world marks in the same race. Willie Plant, United States wafting champion, made a new world's record for twentyfive thousand metres, doing the distance in lOmin 83sec. The former record was lOmin 47sec, made by Prigerio in Italy.
