DIRECT SERVICE ARRANGED. Actrice has been received that tho -overseas shipping companies trading to New Zealand _ have arranged a service ' for twelve months, commencing on June 24th, or regular sailings from London to South Island ports, by which, in most instances, Lytelton or Port Chalmers will he made the first port of call. In response to the agitation of South Island importers, a new direct cargo service to South Island ports will be inaugurated next month, when the steamerß of the C. and D. Line, New Zealand Shipping Co., and Shaw, Savill and Albion Line, will make regular calls at Dunedin, Lyttelton and Timaru,
