PIGEON FLYING.
CANTERBURY CLUB. The Canterbury Pigeon Flying Club flew their second young bird Culverden raco recently; 107 birds wero sent, divided between 16 owners. The birds were liberated by the stationmaster at 9 a.m. in fair weatier. The winning bird, Bellbird, the property of Mr C. Martin, flew the distance of 56 miles 618 yards in the time of lhr 37min 49seo. The 'following me the results:— , Yds per min. C. Martin's Bellbird .. .. 1021 H. Pearson's Harp ... .. 1006.. J. Anderson's No. 829 ... 989 J. Harris's Zazz Sazz .. •.. 989 W. Puddle's No. 413 F. Smith's No. 582 .... ... 975. E. French's No. 343 .. .. 965 G. Green's No. 281 .. .. 892 A. Jones wins the special-nominated bird prize, also the special prize for best aggregate in the two Culverden races.
