CONCILIATION COUNCIL.
HAIRDRESSERS' DISPUTE. On Friday morning the dispute between the Christchurch Hairdressers' and Tobacconists' Assistants' Union and the employers came up for hearing before the ConcTliation Commissioner, Mr W. H. Hagger, a complete "agreement being eventually reached. The employer?' assessors were Messrs L. V. Brian, George. Finney, and F. W. Woodward. Tho Union assessors were Messrs J. D. Barry G. H. Parkin, and J. Bamett. The following were the terms of the agree-ment:-Hours of work, forty-eight a week, the time of working to begin at 8 ajn. and to finish at 5.45 p.m. on all days of the week except on Friday, when work shall Tease at 8.45 p.m., and 12.45 p.m. on SatU Tho"'working » hours in Carnival Week shall end as follows Monday, 12.40 p. 0., Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 0.40 pm.- Friday, 9 p.m.; and Saturday, -.4, P- The minimum wage for journeymen was J.ne mi _ ee t.
