N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING.

Arrangements arc now Complete for the New Zealand rifle championcjiip meeting, opening at Trentham on Friday, May Ist. The executive, of the N.R.A. is taking aTI r.ecessary etep3 to ensure. the comfort of competitors, and the weather being colder than in March, the usual date, has arranged for on extra issue of blankets. Given fine weather, high scoring should prevail, there being as a rule lees wind to contend with at this time of the year. Entries are coming in steadily, and in this direction members -A local clubs would help the secretory appreciably •by nominating promptly.
A strong contingent is expected from the South Island, as, on account of extra expense incurred by these competitors, their, entry fee has been reduced by £l. The present champion, Captain Simmonds, M.C., of Wanganui, is sliooting in fine form, having won the North Island championship this year. Deputy-President Croxton (Kanori), an ex-champion, is also in great nick, recently winning the South Island championship. With other wellknown shots displaying excellent form, a great b.ittle for the Ballinger Belt is assured.
The present champion team, Karori, is doing well, and will be strongly represented. Greytown, who won two years ago, maintain their- form, recently winning the teams' match at Hawke's Bay. Linkwater, which won the South Island champion teams' match at Easter, will also have a strong team in action. "With other formidable teams present the champion teams' match of 1925 will be a very keen contest.
