Mr H. Chapman, District Traffic Manager of Railways, returned from the West Coast last evening.

The Chrisbchurch Branch of the New Zealand Public Service Association, at a meeting last night, recorded its sincere) sympathy with the Prime Minister in his illness.

He served his apprenticeship at the Lyttelton Post Office, .ami was connected with the office for a number of years. Later he ws's" transferred to Christehurch ana thence to Wellington. He is a brother of Mr J. S. Neville, Town Cleric of Christchureh.
