Count Henri de Castellanc, the --- year-old son of Count Stanislas de CastcUanc, has been expelled from Harvard .University f.or hiving persistently refused to learn German. One ot the regulations of the University is that oradnatcs must display a knowledge of French and German. The young count, for patriotic reasons, refused, it is alleged, during the three years he has been at Harvard to learn more of German than is necessary to be able to reiterate "ich werd' nieht Deutsch sprechen" ("I will not speak German"). His fellow-undergraduates, on the night he left America to return home, gave him a complimentary banquet.
