Taylor, of Greymouth, has; received an. appointment in an lorganising capacity for an Australian oil prospecting syndicate which will commence operations shortly in the neighbourhood of Gisborne. Mr E. J. Rundle has been appointed acting-secretary of the Brunner. Collier-. ics, Ltd. Sixteen applications were received for the position of mine manager, but no appointment was mad*? at the Board's statutory meeting. An Arrest. A man named William George Muir was arrested at Hokitika this afternoon and -\yill appear at the Court tomorrow, charged with forgery and issuing valueless cheques for £6O. Denniston Library.

There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Denniston Library. Tho balanee-shoet showed a credit balanco of £337. The following officers were elected:—President, Mr G. .Smith; vice-president, Mr W. V, Hanstock; secretary and treasuror, Mr J. B. Hudson (t-hirty-socoiul successive term)) committee, Messrs "\V. Coppersmith, J. Smaller, D. Milligan and I'\ Smith. It was decided to purchase £SO worth o5? new books. Rugby. A meeting of the newly-formed Rugby. Supporters' Club was hold tliig evening, Mr W. J. Patterson presiding. There was an attendance of thirty-five. The chairman gave a resume of the work done by the committee originally set up to make preliminary arrangements. The committee suggested that the name of tho Association be the West Coast Rugby Supporters' Association. Tho committee's action was endorsed. The West Coast Rugby Union wrote stating that it agreed to a suggestion from the Association regarding the holding of Wednesday matches, and asking the Association to circularise the different clubs in regard to the matter. Tho following officer.? were elected: Patron, Mr D. McKay; president, Mr W. J. Patterson; vice-presidents, Messrs C. MeKechnie, J. Steel and Dr. .7. Mcßrearty; committee, Messrs A. S. Dunford, D. M. Robertson, E. I. Lord, T. Scott, J. Latnberton, <j, Gear and J. Brown. The oommitteo was instructed to make iis first duty the launching of Wednesday afternoon matches.
