WELLINGTON, April 23.
At a largely attended meetipg of the Wellington branch of the P. and T. Officers* Association, Mr Mnllins moved: "That this section strongly recommends the conference to take' action to rescind the resolution passedl authorising affiliation with the Alliance of Labour."
An amendment moved by Mr faimpson: "That this section (feXsomttfendS that so soon as tho Government take steps to withdraw the embargo on affiliation with the Alliance of Labour, the attitude 'of members of the Aflso6iation thereto be ascertained by a further ballot," was earned by 105 votes to 94. ",,*«. a A second motion by Mr Siasons, to rescind the previous meeting's resolution against the Association being connected directly or indirectly with any political party and against the journal of the Association being used for political propaganda, was defeated by an overwhelming majority.
