A meeting. of the General Committee of the Ashburfmj Boxing Association was held last night, Mr H. K. C. McElrea presiding. Regarding tho negotiations with tho J\ow Zealand Picture Supplies to arrange a. benefit programme for tbo Acsociation, the chairman stated that this would he possible by the Association sharing halt the proceeds of outside sales. Tha night could bj a, reunion of members, and, a' a result of tha benefit, sufficient money might bo raised to pursue the idea of giving the boys free tuition, 'fhe picture company had agreed to screen ;v Aery apfropriato picture for ,thc night. It was docided to make the final arrangements for tho entertainment. Tho Hon. W. A'oaworthy ur.d Mr It-. Kennedy wrote thanking the Association for electing them vicc-prcsjdfints. It was decided that the resignation of Mr F. Smallbone be not accepted, and that lie be granted leave of absence until his return to tho Dominion. The secretary reported that, < wing to tho health restrictions, tho boys' boxing classes had not yet commenced, while, so far, he had only been approached by one applicant to join the class. Mr R. Stock, the instructor, stated that ho had had seme onquiries from boys who. were mostly over the age limit/ of those eligible for "free tuitior,-. Mr F. AV. Scldon said they should take every applicant. .
