LONG DISTANCE RECORD. AN AMERICAN CLAIM. (BT CAW.R- -PBESS ASSOCIATION-COETMOHT.) (aUSTBALIA* AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received April 22nd, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, April 21. It is believed that a world's record for long-distance radio telegraph communication was established between 1.35 and 2.15 o'clock this morning, when messages were interchanged between the naval experimental and research laboratory, in Bellevue, District of Columbia, end Sydney, Australia, a distance of nearly 10,000 miles. The experiment was conducted under the direction of the Navy Department and an official announcement declares that the test was successful.
