♦— — COLLEGE-SCHOOL MATCH. RUGBY UNION'S COMMENT. . Th announcement recently made by the Rev. E. C. Crosse, headmaster of Christ's College, that he would not agree to the annual football match, Christ's College v. Boys' High School, Using played this year if the teams were to meet on Lancaster Park was the subject of a short discussion at last night's meeting of the Management Committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union. Mr A. E. MoPhail asked the chairman if anything had been decided regarding the College-School match. The chairman (Mr A. Dey): 1 don't think so. Judging from what we have seen it has been knocked on the head.
Mr McPhail suggested another deputation should wait on the people concerned to see if the match could not be arranged.
The chairman, said that'he did not think any good would como of n deputation. <r ipu know how for we got with tho last," he added. , \,. Mr G. P. Payne: It is a pity, to see an old competition like this lapse after so many years. Mr McPhail: I think wo should make another effort to do something in the matter.
The chairman: I suggest that you bring the matter forward at the next meeting. Mr MoPhail: It seems a funny thing to lot it drop out. The chairman: Next week there may be Gomething more definite atbout it. The matter then dropoed on the understanding that it be! brought up again.
