Mr Justioe Shearman, in a divorce action at Manchester, observed, "Wedo not sell wires in these days with, ropes round their necks." A husband claimed damages against the co-re-spondent. "There seems to be a notion," said the J.udge, "that people can come to the Divorce Oourt and obtain damages in every c?se. ± strongly object. The co-respondent has relieved the petitioner of a thoroughly bad wife. A man who brings a divorce action for the purpose of getting happily married to another woman has no ', 'plaim, as he suffers no damage.''
