ORDINARY MEETING. TO "IKE MISS.") CRETM-OUTH. April .21. A mooting of the Grey Power Board wa3 held to-night, Mr H. F. Doogaa presiding «rrer a full attondanco of members. A letter was received from the Grey. Valley Collieries, ■■ Ltd., asking tho prico it was proposed ; to charge •' for ' power and other particulars. .
Tho.cngincor (Mr J. Lylhgoe) reported that he was now in a position to supply the information. It was agreed" to draw tho attention of householders to tho Board's power iti 'connexion with the supervising of installations! Two tenders wore received for the powerhouse at Dobson, these being those of W. Williamson (£5311) and J. Hart (£4939 18s). The hitter was accepted. The successful tenderer undertook to complete the work within eight weeks. The chairman said that he had had an application for power from Mr P. N. Kingswell, for a gold dredge at; New river. Correspondence was read regarding the' matter, a letter stating- that a company would be formed within "a, week. The engineer reported that tho estimated annual cost, including interest, of a railway siding for tho delivery of coal was £BOI. Motor delivery.would cost £644 303-annually. Mr S. Trotter's appointment as draughtsman was confirmed. -:' - The engineer-reported-that tenders rang " ing from-'£l7 10s to £lso' -had •'been- received for clearing tho powerhouse site, and that of Messrs Price and Liim (£47) had been aoepted. Their offer to complete the clearing for £lB was accepted. ' Mr Lythgoe stated that arrangements were being made for several sub-stations. His recommendation that the transformers be • installed'in the powerhouse instead of at Stillwater was adopted, and ho was authorised ■.'to • mako ■ further arrangements . with regard to a-store yard lis. Arney street. _ It was decided to advertise; the i position of main superintendent at £4OO per annum. May 20th was agreed, upon, as theapproxi-' mate" date for the laying of the foundation stone of the powerhouse, and' it was ..decided to invite the Hon. J. G. Coatos to' officiate. . . , .■ . ... The matter of propaganda for electricity was left in the hands of the chairman and engineer. ■ Mr Doogan expressed the hope that retiring members would be re-elected, and ho reviewed the' Board's operations' sine© its inception..
