PUBLIC SCHOOLS' ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION.
Mr G. Ormandy presided over a council inciting of the Canterbury Public Schools' Amateur Athletic Association, held in the Normal School on Monday afternoon. The following s-jb-commiU-ccs were set up: Football: Messrs H. Robertson, J. Bowden, and V. "W. Coiville. Basket" Ball: Misses Hardy and Sapsford, and Mr S. Clark. Mr E. Todd was appointed dele gate' to the Canterbury Amateur Athletic Association. Messrs Rumbold and J. Beat tie were appointed members of the council, vico Messrs X). McDonald and A. H. Guiney, resigned, to whom letters of appreciation for valuable services were forwarded. It was decided to form a branch of the Canterbury Heferees' Association, and a subcommittee was appointed to draw tip the cou stitution. On the motion of Mr F. Penlingrton, it was agreed to hold all school sports on. Saturday mornings. These are usually held on Friday afternoons, but this year, in order to as much as possible out of the shortened school year, teachers are giving up their Saturday mornings in the interests of the children's games.
