FREEZING WORKERS' DISPUTE.
(?AISS ASBOCIATIOK TIL«G*JkK.) , WELLINGTON, November 24. Tho Arbitration Court is hearing tho !Xevr Zealand freezing workers' dispute. The claims of the union sro generally for the restoration of the conditions of the 1921 awa& before the reduction in wages after the slump. The rates of pay sought for slaughtermen are ill 19s Gd a hundred for sheep, and £1 17s for lambs; cattle 2s 7d and- pigs from Is Gd to Is a head. Other wages for assistants and othors are claimed on a similar sr-a-le- Overtimo is claimed at rate and a-half for the first, four hours, and double thereafter. There is also the question of the hours of chambermen, a fixed time for the breakfast hour, end a minimum rate of assistants. For the union it -was stated that tho award in 1921 was made under conditions of severe depression in the pastoral territory-
