REV. ARMOUR INTERVIEWED. "It's a bad thing to let a"minister talk without a test," said the Rev, T. W. Armour, with a smile, •when' a reporter lor an interview last night. The Bov. Armour, who ha 3 but recently come out from Inverness, will be inducted to tbe Knox Church charge this .afternoon. Ho has been in Now Zealand a fortnight* and he has nothing but praise for the country and the people. The . material progreso made in \ the Dominion in the last eighty years ho said had amazed him. Ho had seen the four cities, and everything had eo'emed so familiar to him, a stranger, that he had been surprised. It was a tremendous achievement, and h</ had a great admiration for the pioneers. "In ■ the Old Country wo 'vp got a tremendous.regard foT New Zealand,?'. Mr Armour doclared. "None of the overseas soldiers tyoii our esteem. eo much as tlio'Ko'w Zealandcr's. They were such a gentlemanly set of fellows, without that touch ' of' wildncss that other colonials had.
"I am impressed. with, the stalwart type of people out here," he continued, "So far I have seen no trace of physical deformity in ■ the cities, Buch- aa one would expect to meet at Home. They peem to be a hard-work-ing type of folk, who are making good. Judging by what I lja(ve seen from the train of th?] Canterbury Plains and other stretcji.ea of. open country, I should say. there was room for many more." *ln Knox Church, Duncdin, he had seen,as fine a congregation as would be found in any of the churches in Scotland.
Asked what his views ou dancing were, Mr Armour replied that he intended to make a statement about that 'and kindred subjects later' on.
