FAIR AT NEW BRIGHTON.

Tho result of the Dutch Fair and Christmas Tree at Joyland, New Brighton,, on Friday and Saturday last, on behalf of the funds of tho Anglican Church, exceeded all anticipations, the total receipts being about £123, which mUBt bo very gratifying to the workers of the Beach Church. Mr ■D. G, M.P., opened tho Fair on Friday afternoon. The stalls wore decorated with Dutch windmills and the ladies wore Dutch dresses, tho effect being very pretty. Tho decorations were under the ablo direction of Mrs H. A. Bishop. A hugo Christmas Tree added to the beautiful effect. Everyone did his or her best in tho particular work allotted to them. Assistance wag given by Mr Nuttall'-s Band , fJid tho _Beresford Orchestra, also Mrs Smith and Mr Farmer (piano) and Miss Spedding (violin). The following is a list of tho stallholders: (Work), the Misses E. and M. Sadler, Mesdames Ballantyno and B&rgrove; (Baskets), Mesdames McCreanor, Hockley, Joynt and Samuels; (Produce), Mesdames Stevens, Maclaverty and Blackburn; (Books), Mrs and Miss Asian; (Flowers), Mesdames Bobins, Eider and Winny: (Sweets), Miss Bargrove and members of the Girls' Guild; (Variety), Mrs and Miss Hunt; (Pound), Mrs Leighton; (Christmas Tree), Mesdames Bergh and Bourdot; (.Tearooms), Mesdames Hillier, Munro, Sutton, and Weir, and the Misses' Armstrong, Burrigo and Knowles. The sideshows and amusements caused great fun due to the efforts of tho following gentlemen: Messrs Asquith, Munro, Scott, TTnderhoy, de Roo and Ward. The splendid result of the cake-guessing competition was due to Mrs Bishop, who deservedly won the prize. The winner of the photo, competition was Mr Painter. )■ The whole arrangements were under the able direction of the vicar (Rev C. W. X Maclaverty), the churchwardens, Messrs R. Bar-rove and W. Miles, and the secretary, Mr °G. P. Blftckburn.
