BURWOOD PROGRESSIVE ASSOCIATION.

I At the monthly meeting of the Bunvood Progressive Association there were present—Messrs J. "Wilson (president), ,K. Todhunter (secretary), L. B. Bradstock (treasurer), H. Patterson, G. Jjev/is, A. Mr S. Thompson v.f.s elected a member of the Asnociation. Tho matter t«f clearing Buxton's Kesenre ivaa again brought forward, and it was decided to ask the Waimam County Council to u?c its influence with tho City Council to havo all noxious Trced3 removed. Members expressed the opinion that in its present state it Tvaas a menace to the district in more ways than one. It was decided, after considerable discussion, to notify the three local members ot- the Waim&iri City Council, Messrs Walter, Spencer, and Patterson, that it xvaa the Association's rash that the ratepayers' money should be used in the purchase of a sprayer, rather than in tho proposed hot mix for road making and repairing, it being considered that an efipenditure of £3OOO for the improvement of 15 miles of road) vr&B too costly. It traa agreed that, as necessary repair work had not-been carried out as promised opposite the properties of Mesars Wilson and" Bowse, that Mr . "W. Spencer be written to asking' that tho matter be brought, before the Council at the next meeting. The Association expressed its pleasure at Mr Walter's return to the Tramway Board, and it was decided :o etnd him a congratulatory telegram.
