FOUL BROOD IN BEES.
CURE BELIEVED FOUND. Enthusiastic reference waa made by a wellknown beekeeper, Mr S. H. Davies, of Hamilton East, scretary of the Auckland provincial branch of the National Beekeepers' Association, to the cure for foul brood disease ill honeycomb, recently discovered by Mr E W. Sage, of Ohaupo. Beekeepers, Mr Davies said, were beginning to look upon the many advertised drugs and disinfectants more in the nature of snares than cures; but it was his belief that at last Mr Sago had discovered a cure that would do the work than, it was claimed to do. He had frequently seen combs which were badly infected' with the disease treated wi.h the preparation and afterwards used in the hive without showing any Tiirther signs of the disease.
"The discovery of this solution will mean a big saving to beekeepers, said Mr Davies. "In the past these combs have had to bs destroyed and replaced with foundation, meaning a considerable amount of extra work for <he bees and loss of honey to the beekeeper."
