On Sunday a visit was paid to Diamond Harbour on the 21. The trip was made on less than three-quarters of a .gallon of petrol, despite the many hills. Production of the first cord balloon tyre for motor-cycles is announced by .a"well-known tyre Company. While tho amount of inflation necessary for the new tyre will vary somewhat witli the weight of the machines, it is said that the new balloon casing in ceneral can he run at 15 nounds pressure for the front wheel, riding solo. For machine with side-car attached. 20 pounds in front tvre and 20 pounds for side-car tyre, and 2o pounds in rear tyre. Probably tho most important feature about this new tyre is the development of a special improved clincher bead. Tests with this "head have proved that at eighty miles on tho straiehtaways, and in°6everal tests at 78 miles on curves, the tvres could not bo thrown. Tests conducted on machines used bv the Goodyear tyro people show conclusively that tho new tyre cuts down the wear and tear on the motor-cvcle's mechanism, because vibration is reduced. The tyre, like all balloon tyres, gives easier riding, and test riders report that the tvres" take the fatigue out of all-day riding.
