The Supreme Court waa occupied tilt a late'hour hearing a charge of manslaughter against Leonard Mount Buddie in'connexion With the death of Harold Vincent Cole, a boy who was run over by a ear driven by the accused. , The latter admitted having had a few drinks at Wallaoetown, while contradictory evidence Was given as to his actual state. The medical testimony waa that an old injury might have been responsible for the oaeed condition of accused. The jury returned with * verdict of guilty, and sentence will be deferred till to-morrow morning.
Mr G. Bitchie was accorded a vote of condolence in the death of Mr daughter at last night's meeting ot th* Papanui Burgesses' Association,.
