W.E.A. ACTIVITIES.
At the Training College on Monday, evening, a meeting was held-or the • members of the. executive of the Canterbury District Council of the W.E.A. and.of the 'executive of the North Canterbury, branch of the New Zealand Educational Institute. The recent tivea, at which phases of the Dominion's education .system were discussed,, was. reviewed, and it subject to the . approval •of the Wi: Council and :of the •members of the Educational Institute, to hold-a similar conference' next'year, the idea ; being that it should-' bo"-held V W week : arid •.occupy, say. three'nif-hts. A aub-com-niittae was appointed to draw -up details • Behfeen forty and fifty W.E.A. students and their-friends visited Mr Orton Bradley's house at Charters .Bay on Saturday afternoon and spent an enjoyable and profitable time. Mr R. M. Lain* conducted the party /through the grounda and gave an interesting description, of the different p ; ant f>. shrubs, and flowers, the majority of which were native plants, consisting of Aipme and non-Alpine kinds.
