ARCHBISHOP JULIUS.
CHRISTIAN CONGREGATIONS* RESOLUTION. The resignation of his Grace Archbishop Julius, from tho presidency of tho Council of Christian Congregations, was referred to at the meeting of that body last night when the Rev. W. J. Williams moved: "That the Council of Christian Congregations has received with extreme regret notice of the impending retirement of its first and only president, Archbishop Julius. Tho Council is persuaded that the enthusiasm for social reform and for social well-being,' always and everywhere displayed in the Archbishop, has won for him on enduring place in the affection of the people of this province. The loss to the Council of Christian Congregations is irreparable," In speaking, to the motion, the mover stated that as soon ae news ot the Archbishop's retirement had been received, it was expected that his Grace would also relinquish his- other offices held in connexion with public matters in Christchurch. During tho term of his presidency, it had been a pleasure to/work with his Grace. The motion was seconded by the Rev. A. W. Stuart, and was carried without discussion.
